Frequently asked questions
What’s the address?
Tankardstown House, Rathkenny, Slane, Meath, C15 D535, Ireland
What time is the wedding?
Please arrive from 2pm and be seated for the ceremony by 2.45pm.
Are children welcome?
We love your little ones, but we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. Of course, if your little one is still in your arms they are more than welcome. Let us know in advance.
Gifts?
Your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for. If you would still like to give a gift in some way then we kindly request a contribution towards our honeymoon or a new dining table we are eyeing up. You can either use our Prezola page or perhaps leave a card on the day.
What’s the dress code?
Wedding day: formal and fabulous. Gents, no need for black tie (the wedding party are wearing it but no-one else is obliged to). This is a heels appropriate venue, if desired.
Day two: wear whatever you like! Somewhere between casual and smart casual!
Is there parking if I am driving?
Yes, there is ample.
Can I stay at the Tankardstown on Friday?
There is another wedding on Friday, which is pretty standard for Irish wedding venues so it is not possible to stay the night before. However, check out the ‘Stay’ page for accommodation ideas.
If I am not staying, how do I get home?
You will need to order a taxi to collect you. This will need to be organised in advance given the rural location.
If I am staying at the venue when can I check in? What time is check out?
Check in is from 3.30pm, so after the wedding ceremony. They’ll be plenty of time to leave your bags before the reception. Check out on either Sunday or Monday is by 12pm, after breakfast.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Ireland is, of course, known for having a very dry, sunny climate at all times. As such, the ceremony will be outside unless the entirely unexpected happens and it rains. On the off chance there is rain, bring a brolly.
Ok to take pictures during the wedding?
Absolutely! Just not during the ceremony.
